Accessibility Statement for proteus-vr.com · Last updated: July 21, 2026

Proteus Réalité Virtuelle Inc. is committed to making the Proteus Labs website accessible to all people, including users with disabilities. This statement describes the current accessibility of proteus-vr.com, our remediation work in progress, and how to contact us if you encounter a barrier.

Standard we are working toward

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, Level AA. WCAG 2.1 AA is the substantive standard underlying Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act, the European Accessibility Act, and most U.S. state and Canadian provincial accessibility regulations.

Current status

The proteus-vr.com website partially conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conforms means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

We have produced a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT 2.5) detailing our current conformance level for each WCAG 2.1 success criterion. The VPAT is available on request from info@proteus-vr.com.

Known accessibility issues we are working to fix

We are aware of the following accessibility issues and have a published remediation plan. As of July 21, 2026:

  • The website now uses the TranslatePress multilingual plugin for language switching. We are configuring its switcher to show written language names (not flags alone) and verifying full keyboard and screen-reader operability. Target: Phase 1 (September 2026).
  • The cookie consent banner has incomplete keyboard support and contains mixed-language text without proper language markup. We are rebuilding it in Phase 1.
  • The contact form has been rebuilt with Elementor Pro forms. We are adding autocomplete attributes and accessible, clearly-associated inline error messages. Target: Phase 2.
  • Focus indicators on interactive elements use the browser default rather than a high-contrast custom style. We are adding a custom focus style site-wide in Phase 1.
  • Some image alt text is auto-generated and not descriptive. We are reviewing and rewriting all image alt text in Phase 1.
  • The Privacy Policy PDF has not been tagged for screen reader compatibility. We are regenerating it as a tagged PDF in Phase 2.

The full remediation roadmap is available on request from info@proteus-vr.com.

What works well today

Some accessibility features are already in place:

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page lets keyboard and screen-reader users bypass repetitive navigation.
  • Pages use semantic HTML5 structure with proper heading hierarchy (one H1 per page, descriptive H2 and H3 subheadings).
  • Navigation, footer, and visual identity are consistent across pages.
  • Text content reflows on narrow viewports and remains readable at 200% browser zoom.

VR/AR application

This statement covers only the proteus-vr.com website. The Proteus Labs application that runs on Meta Quest, Pico, and Android XR headsets is a separate product and is governed by different accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1, Section 508 Chapter 5, and the W3C XR Accessibility User Requirements). A separate accessibility statement and VPAT for the application will be published once an evaluation is completed in the future.

This website is built on WordPress with the OceanWP theme and Elementor, and is made multilingual with TranslatePress. This statement was prepared in good faith based on our internal self-assessment. The next revision will follow the Phase 1 remediation and is targeted for September 2026.
